Here’s what we have going on! We have rainy day options if the weather turns on us, but we’re hoping for Cornwall’s best blue skies and warm water, so pack that sunscreen and swimsuit…
See below for directions to all locations, and a map is coming soon. We’ll also be coordinating lift-shares. Check-in and your welcome pack will be available on the door from 19.30 on Friday, and again from 10am on Saturday. You can see the bands and instructors for the weekend here.
Friday 15th June
19.30 – 23.30: Social dancing at King Charles the Martyr church hall. DJ Charleton and DJ Tatman will be battling it out to see who is the best swing DJ in town, and we’ll be opening the Den of Iniquity. Bring your own drinks, we’ll provide glasses.
Saturday 16th June
10.30 – 11.30: Shag Taster class. Come and experience the fun and energy of Collegiate Shag! Ed and Nicole‘s taster provides an introduction to this uptempo style of swing dance (King Charles the Martyr Church Hall).
11.30 – 12.30: Cornish folk dance taster class with Emma Pellowe and live music from MacQuarrie & Toms (King Charles the Martyr Church Hall).
12.30 – 13.00: Pasty lunch provided with tea, coffee and music if you still have some energy left to dance! King Charles the Martyr Church Hall.
14.00 – 17.00: Time to get in the water, or explore beautiful Falmouth and the surrounding areas:
- Surfing at Gwithian. For those of you who have paid for a surf lesson meet at The Gwithian Academy of Surfing (directions below) at 13.40. Surfboards, wetsuits, boots, gloves and hoods are included but bring a swimsuit, towel, sun cream and some flip flops for the walk down to the beach. We’ll help to arrange lift shares. Details of the lesson here. If you’re not having a surf lesson but would like to hire a board or wetsuit please call the surf school in advance: 01736 757579. There are also some great walks around Gwithian so ask if you’d like more info.
- Stand-Up Paddleboarding in Falmouth. For those of you who have paid for a SUP lesson meet at Club WeSUP (directions below) at 13.40. Wetsuit hire is an additional £6. Details here. If you’re not having a SUP lesson but would like to hire a board and wetsuit please call WeSUP in advance: 01326 311830
19.30 – 23.30: Dance party with live music from Skedaddle at King Charles the Martyr church hall. Bring your own drinks, we’ll provide the glasses, and put on your best dancing rags!
23.30 – late: After party at Hillbilly’s.
Sunday 17th June
11.00-12.00: Taster class in acrobatic dance and air steps (beginner and intermediate level), at King Charles the Martyr Church Hall.
12.00 – 14.00: Head over to Chapel Porth beach for a chance at trying out a 1920s style surf board. There’s hot food and ice cream available at Chapel Porth Cafe, open till 17.30.
14.00 – 16.00: Stick around on the beach for a swing party like no other…in a cave! We will also make sure there are some scones, jam and cream as we wouldn’t want you to leave without a Cornish cream tea… proper job!
16.00 – late: Picnic and Prosecco party at Beacon Farm near Chapel Porth. Enjoy dancing to live music from The Specialists as the weekend draws to an end. Please bring food and a drink (Prosecco recommended!) for yourself, or to share. We’ll provide plates, cutlery, cups, etc… For those staying late, you can make your own wood fired pizza.

The Surf lesson is at Gwithian Academy of Surfing: 1 Godrevy Towans, Gwithian, Hayle, Cornwall, TR27ED. Situated next to the Rockpool Bar & Grill just outside the seaside village of Gwithian where we can now offer changing facilities, outside shower and classroom. There is ample parking on site. To find the school take the Hayle Exit from the A30. Just after the Hayle Exit roundabout you will see a double roundabout. Take the third exit to Gwithian. Drive for approximately 3 miles.
